2 teenagers caught with ‘shabu,’ guns in Cabanatuan City
CABANATUAN CITY — Two teenaged boys were caught carrying two hand guns and three large sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in Barangay (village) Sumacab Este here on Wednesday night, police said on Friday.
Police chased the 17-year-old boys who rode past a checkpoint along Vergara highway on a motorcycle, said Supt. Ponciano Zafra, city police chief.
When cornered, the boys allegedly drew out their guns but did not fire them when they were arrested.
Zafra said the boys were residents of Barangay Kaingin at Bongabon town in Nueva Ecija province. They denied owning the guns and drugs but would still be charged for possessing illegal drugs and unlicensed guns. JE/rga
