Casket-making shop gutted by fire in QC

MANILA — A casket manufacturing shop was gutted by fire Wednesday noon, damaging an estimated P100,000 worth of property.

Quezon City fire marshal, Senior Supt. Manuel Manuel, said that the fire started at around 12:30 p.m.Wednesday, inside the paint area of the casket shop owned by Jan Anne dela Cruz along Sangandaan Compound in Barangay Talipapa.

The blaze quickly reached the third alarm as the area was full of wood products. Firefighters were able to quell the fire 50 minutes after it broke out.

No one was reported injured, but an estimated P100,000 in property was lost to the fire. Authorities have yet to determine what caused the blaze.  SFM
