66-year-old woman killed, 5 hurt in Quezon accident
LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A 66-year old woman was killed and five others were injured in a road accident in Guinayangan town in Quezon province on Monday, police said Tuesday.
Senior Insp. Eric Veluz, Guinayangan police chief, said a Toyota Hilux pick up being driven by Wilfredo Apo, 66, bumped the rear portion of a water delivery truck that was parked at the side of the road in Barangay (village) San Luis 2 around 9:45 a.m.
With the strong impact, Myrna Apo, 66, Wilfredo’s passenger and wife, died on the spot from fatal body injuries.
Police said Wilfredo and the rest of his passengers, Charlene Filipino, 23; Lorna Lusterio, 32; and Apo Lusterio, 10, sustained injuries and were brought to the St. Peter General Hospital in nearby Calauag town for treatment.
Police said the truck driver, Christopher Cayunda, also suffered injuries and has been confined at the same hospital. SFM
