BANGKOK—Three agreements on science and technology, tourism and agriculture are to be signed during President Duterte’s brief visit here en route home from Burma (Myanmar), Ambassador Mary Jo Bernardo-Aragon said on Monday.

Tourism cooperation

Though the Philippines and Thailand had already signed a tourism cooperation agreement in March 1993, Aragon said the new accord would be more on “expanding our areas of cooperation” and “helping each other in the tourism industry.”

“We can learn a lot from  our friends here in Thailand on how they have managed to increase the number of tourist arrivals here, their infrastructures,” she said.

Encouragement

“We can encourage our institutions, academics that are involved in the tourism industry to learn from their counterparts here, so there could be joint marketing promotions,” she added.

The agreement on science and technology, she said, was expected to help micro, small and medium enterprises in the Philippines.

Aragon said the other agreement was on farm and dairy buffalo production.
