LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Lucena City police on Thursday arrested five suspected notorious drug pushers in buy-bust operations and seized “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P172,000, police said Friday.
Senior Supt. Rhoderick Armamento, Quezon police provincial director, said the suspects—Cynthia Rea, 44; Mark Anthony Ajay, 29; Emerlito Borgoños Jr., 37; Roderick del Fierro, 42; and Marieto Borgoños, 52—were nabbed by the anti-illegal drug unit led by Supt. Arturo Brual Jr., Lucena police chief, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in four separate operations in the city.

Rea was collared after she sold shabu to an undercover police agent in Barangay (village) Dalahican around 1:45 a.m. During the preventive search, the suspect yielded 12 sachets of shabu weighing 56.6 grams worth P104.700, a digital weighing scale and a mobile phone containing a list of his past drug transactions.
Police tagged Rea, as “big-time” supplier of “shabu” to drug users in the coastal village of mostly young fishermen and dock workers.
Suspects Ajay and Borgoños Jr. were arrested in another buy-bust operation Barangay Ibabang Dupay around 8:45 p.m. Police seized four sachets of shabu weighing 15.5 grams worth P28,700.
Police also collared Del Fierro in the same village. The suspect yielded five sachets of shabu weighing 10 grams worth P18,500 in the street drug market.
Shortly before midnight, police also grabbed suspect Borgoños in another part of the same village after he sold shabu to an undercover policeman. The suspect was carrying four sachets of shabu weighing 11 grams with an estimated street value of P20,600./rga
