MANILA, Philippines–All three living past presidents but not the incumbent, Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, will take part in the renewal of wedding vows of Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., and wife, Cavite Representative Lani Mercado on Saturday, May 28.
Prominent personalities in politics and show business as well as business tycoons were listed as principal and secondary sponsors when the couple mark their 25th wedding anniversary by renewing their wedding vows at the Shrine of St. Therese of the Child Jesus in Villamor Airbase in Pasay City.
Leading the list of principal sponsors are former Presidents Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, now representative of Pampanga, Joseph Estrada, and Fidel Ramos and wife, Amelita; former House Speaker Jose de Venecia, former Senator Ernesto Maceda, Las Pinas Representative Cynthia Villar, television network owners Manny Pangilinan and Felipe Gozon, businessmen Ramon Ang and Henry Sy Jr, and showbiz personalities Gretchen Cojuangco and German Moreno, among others.
World boxing champion and Saranggani Representaive Manny Pacquiao and wife, Jinky, Senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada snd wife, Precy, actor Philip Salvador and actress Lorna Tolentino will be the secondary sponsors.
Notably, the entourage did not include President Aquino, who will be the best man when Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago and husband renew their wedding vows on June 19.
