5 suspected drug pushers, 3 users nabbed in Quezon operations
LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Police arrested five suspected drug pushers and three users in separate operations in Quezon province on Monday and Tuesday, a police report said.
Senior Supt. Rhoderick Armamento, Quezon police provincial director, said the suspects were nabbed by operatives from the police anti-illegal drug units in Lucena City and the towns of Dolores, Pagbilao and Lucban.
In Lucena City, suspect Jonathan de Chavez, a “drug pusher” who voluntarily surrendered to the police in the past under Oplan Tokhang, was nabbed by police agents in a buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) 10 around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police seized four plastic sachets of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P1,800, all ready for distribution to his drug user clients in the village.
The operatives also arrested Louie Rivas, Maricel Rosales and Jessie Corachea who were caught sniffing “shabu”. The three yielded a gram of shabu.
Earlier, policemen nabbed Francis Rañola, 57, after he was spotted carrying a bladed weapon in Pleasantville Subdivision in Barangay Ibabang Iyam around 12 midnight.
Article continues after this advertisementWhen the suspect was being frisked, he also yielded a coin purse containing three plastic sachets of shabu weighing 10 grams worth P18,500.
Article continues after this advertisementIn Lucban town, suspect Lizandro Orno, 39, was arrested with three plastic sachets of shabu worth P350 in Barangay 4 on Monday while in Pagbilao, policemen collared Reniel Causapin, 27 after he sold shabu worth P500 to an undercover policeman in Barangay Bukal.
In Dolores, operatives arrested Rommel Soriano, 29 in another drug operation in Barangay Bulakin II on Monday. The suspect yielded a plastic sachet of shabu worth P100. SFM/rga
