A 4.3 magnitude earthquake jolted Batangas on Monday but no aftershocks were expected, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The epicenter of the tremor was 18 kilometers northwest of Calatagan and was recorded at 10:48 a.m.
The tectonic quake had a depth of 113 kilometers.
Intensity II was felt in Calatagan, Phivolcs said.
There was also no reported immediate damage from the quake.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where continental plates collide, causing more than usual seismic and volcanic activities. JE/rga
