AFTER FINALLY nailing their first victory the last time out, the Alaska Aces are confident they can pull of another win when they face off against the Petron Blaze Boosters this Saturday at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City.
The Aces logged their breakthrough win after five failed attempts last Wednesday—a 93-72 spanking of the Barako Bull Energy.
“We saw some good signs in that win and I hope we can continue with what we did in that game,” said Joel Banal, head coach of Alaska.
Banal, who faced local reporters yesterday at the Old Spaghetti House in SM City-Cebu along with LA Tenorio, Cyrus Baguio, Tony dela Cruz and Cebuano Ariel Mepaña, said his wards are starting to adjust with his system.
Banal denied rumors that the Aces are trading Sonny Thoss in favor of Ginebra’s Enrico Villanueva and JC Intal. “Sonny is the partner of LA. Those rumors are not true,” said Banal, who finally tasted a win since replacing Tim Cone. EDITORIAL ASSISTANT CALVIN D. CORDOVA
