DepEd official shot dead in Lanao Sur – police

COTABATO CITY – An education official assigned in Lanao del Sur was shot dead by a lone gunman in Parang, Maguindanao, police said Tuesday.
Nasser Devanza, identified as the schools division superintendent of Lanao del Sur, was relieving himself inside the comfort room of a gasoline station in Barangay Making when shot around 5:40 p.m. Monday, said Senior Inspector Erwin Tabora, the Parang town police chief.

Tabora said the victim was on his way back to Lanao del Sur after attending the opening of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao regional sportsfest in North Upi town.
He died of multiple gunshot wounds, Tabora added. SFM/rga
