QUEZON, Isabela — Eleven commuters were hurt when their public utility jeepney fell into a 98-meter-deep ravine at Tuesday dawn (March 7) in Barangay (village) Taniok-New Tanglag in Kalinga province’s Tabuk City.
The right wheel of the jeepney burst, causing it to topple off the mountain road.
The passengers survived with bruises and contusions, and were brought to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital and Almora General Hospital, both in Tabuk City.
The jeep came from Pinukpuk town, and was driven by 39-year-old Rosalino Ampok who was also hurt. He has been placed under police custody pending the filing of charges for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries. SFM
