After voters’ data were compromised, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) wants to get an ISO certification on information management and security.
The poll body has directed its bids and awards committee (BAC) to hire a consultancy firm in securing the ISO 27001 certification from the International Organization for Standardization.
The Comelec has set aside a P831,600-budget for “consultancy services” to obtain the ISO 27001 certification.
ISO 27001 provides requirements for an information security management system, a systematic approach to managing and securing sensitive information.
Interested parties may submit their technical and financial proposals in a sealed envelope on March 13 at the Comelec BAC secretariat office at the Comelec office in Intramuros, Manila. —JULIE M. AURELIO
