The low pressure area (LPA) near Surigao del Sur will bring rains in parts of Mindanao in the next few days.
In a report by Panahon TV, weather forecaster Benison Estareja was quoted as saying that the weather disturbance is unlikely to intensify into a tropical cyclone but will bring rains in the next four days.
The LPA was last spotted 215 kilometers southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur or 270 kilometers east of Davao City.
Moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected over Caraga, Davao region, Northern Mindanao, Soccasksargen and the provinces of Southern Leyte, Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao.
Flashfloods and landslides are possible in these areas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Central and Eastern Visayas and the rest of Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms. RAM/rga
