Mindanao will continue to have rains due to a low pressure area (LPA) in the vicinity of Surigao del Sur, while the northeast monsoon continued to affect Northern Luzon, the state weather bureau said on Sunday afternoon.

The LPA was last plotted at 400 kilometers east-southeast of Hinatuan in Surigao del Sur, according to the 5 p.m. bulletin issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms would be experienced over Mindanao, while cloudy skies with light rains could be expected over Cagayan Valley and the province of Aurora.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms would prevail over the rest of the country.

“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to east will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast to north with slight to moderate seas,” Pagasa added. /atm
