Getting There: Sicogon Island

/ 01:00 AM March 05, 2017

The easiest and fastest way to reach Sicogon Island is to take a bus bound for the town of Estancia in Iloilo province, which is at least four hours from the take-off point at Tagbak Terminal in Jaro District in Iloilo City.

Tourists have to be at the Estancia port before 8 a.m. to catch the motorized pumpboat that will take them to Sicogon at P60 per person. The island is about 45 minutes away from Estancia port.

But Estancia is closer to Roxas City in Capiz province than Iloilo. From Metro Manila, visitors may opt to go to Roxas because the city is only 90 minutes away from Estancia while land travel from Iloilo City will take at least four hours. A private van from the Roxas airport to Estancia costs P3,000. The vehicle can accommodate 12 people. A group may also hire a pumpboat, which seats 30 people, for P4,000.

If visitors are coming from the Iloilo airport, they can hire a van to Estancia for P6,000 or take the bus for P150 to P200.
