Did You Know: Rabies Awareness Month

Rabies Awareness Month is observed every March by virtue of Executive Order No. 84 signed on March 13, 1999 by then President Joseph Estrada. According to the Department of Health, a total of 783,663 animal bites were recorded across the country in 2015. The National Capital Region recorded the most number of rabies exposures with 131,508 cases. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
