Siblings drown in Pangasinan river

DAGUPAN CITY – The remains of two girls were discovered in a river in Manaoag town in Pangasinan province on Saturday.

Irish Mae Relosa, 15, and her 12-year-old sister Angel Joy were found by residents, who had intended to swim at the Bued River in Barangay (village) Sapang at 4:20 p.m.

Police said the Relosa sisters were submerged in 6 feet of water and were wearing their clothes.

Investigators said the Relosas may have drowned while crossing the river.

Rescuers took the victims to a hospital but doctors there declared them dead on arrival. JE/rga
