Today, Feb. 24, is the 155th birth anniversary of Gen. Edilberto Evangelista. Born in 1862 in Sta. Cruz, Manila, Evangelista, an engineer by profession, became a general in the war against Spanish colonial rule, where he led the construction of trenches and other defenses.
