Arresting team, failing to find De Lima at home, returns to Senate

/ 11:33 PM February 23, 2017

After nearly two hours of snaking through the streets of Metro Manila, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) team sent to arrest Sen. Leila De Lima arrived at the Senate at around 10:44 p.m. on Thursday.

The CIDG convoy – made up of three jeeps, a coaster, and four motorcycle escorts – proceeded to the Senate after the arresting policemen did not find the senator at her home in Parañaque.

The team, made up of two dozen CIDG members, left Camp Crame at around 9 p.m. after receiving a copy of the arrest warrant issued by the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court in connection with drug charges filed against the senator. /atm
