Did You Know: Enrile-Ramos breakaway from Marcos

/ 02:02 AM February 23, 2017

On Feb. 23, 1986, hundreds of people gathered around Camps Aguinaldo and Crame on Edsa to support the troops under then Defense Minister Juan Ponce Enrile and Gen. Fidel Ramos after they broke away from the Marcos regime. Armed only with rosaries and prayers, the human barricade managed to stop a large contingent of marines and military tanks from arresting the two officials. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
