DOJ issues lookout bulletin vs ‘rent-tangay’ suspects
Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II has issued an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) against suspects in the “rent-tangay” scheme that has swindled more than a hundred car owners.
In a memorandum Tuesday, Aguirre ordered the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to include Ana Pamplona Borton, Lea Constantino Rosales and Rafaela Anunciacion in the lookout order .
Aguirre said the ILBO was issued “in order not to defeat the purpose” of the investigation being conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
He ordered BI Commissioner Jaime Morente to alert immigration officers in all airports and ports nationwide to be on alert.
An ILBO was already issued last week against another suspect, Tychicus Historillo Nambio.
“I enjoin all our Immigration officers and everyone concerned to strictly discharge their duties. This rent-tangay scam has victimized a lot of persons, let us bring those responsible to our courts so that justice will be served,” Aguirre said.
