Foundation, CITE forge ties to feed children

In response to the challenges in fighting malnutrition, the Century Pacific Group-Ricardo S. Po Foundation (CPG-RSPO) has forged ties with the Center for Industrial Technology and Enterprise to give one million meals to the underprivileged schoolchildren in Cebu.

CITE dubbed the program “Heroes among us: A community and nutrition project,” which aims to feed the undernourished children in partnership with the beneficiary schools and parents and teachers associations.

Initially, seven elementary schools signed up their participation during the program orientation last Oct. 18.

These are the Cabancalan I Elementary School with 300 beneficiaries, San Jose Elementary School with 250 pupils, Cabancalan II Elementary School with 200 pupils, Budlaan Elementary School with 200 pupils, Talamban Elementary School with 500 pupils, Banilad Elementary School with 200 pupils and San Jose day care with 200 pupils.

Four feeding activities will be conducted for each school starting Nov. 4.

The two-hour activity will include a learning session for the pupils and a virtue talk for parents and teachers.

The donated products from Century such as Century Tuna, 555 Sardines, Argentina Corned Beef and Wow Ulam with vegetables and other nutritious ingredients will be prepared for the  children.

CITE would also tap donors of bread, margarine and disposable utensils.

For partnerships, call 346-1611.
