The black Hummer wagon involved in the Feb. 12 hit-and-run incident that left two people dead in Quezon City was recovered by the police in a remote area in Sariaya, Quezon province, on Tuesday afternoon.

Members of the Quezon City Police District’s Traffic Enforcement Unit, along with the provincial police, found the vehicle at the house of Felixberto Manalo in Sitio Manalo, Barangay Lutucan Bata.

Manalo is reportedly a “downliner” or member of the networking business that also involved Alvin San Pablo, who was driving the Hummer in Quezon City when it hit and killed two motorcycle riders early Sunday morning.

SPO4 Crizaldo Nemenzo, the case investigator, said the Hummer was found in a secluded area about 30 minutes away from the highway.

When brought to the QCPD headquarters at Camp Karingal, the vehicle had minor dents on its hood due to the hit-and-run incident. In contrast, the motorcycle used by the victims—Felix Marvin Bose and Lowell Gonzalgo, both in their mid-20s—was almost broken in two.

San Pablo underwent inquest proceedings on Tuesday night for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and damage to property, as well as violation of Article 275 of the Revised Penal Code for abandoning Bose and Gonzalgo.

Nemenzo said San Pablo also violated the Land Transportation and Traffic Code when he fled and did not present himself immediately to authorities.

San Pablo remained in detention at Camp Karingal, Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, the QCPD director, said. —WITH A REPORT FROM DELFIN T. MALLARI JR., INQUIRER SOUTHERN LUZON
