Leaflets for Mandaue

THE Mandaue City police printed  leaflets to remind the public about  do’s and dont’s while staying in  the cemetery during All Souls’ and All Saints’ Days

Nevertheless, police still confiscated 20 knives including sharp objects used by painters to scrape off paint and a bottle of liquor yesterday.

Mandaue City Police Chief Noel Gillamac said the leaflets were easier to read than posting  reminders on tarpaulin banners.

The  leaflets were printed in Cebuano and included the phone numbers of police stations in the city.

Peaceful in Cebu City

Cebu City police confiscated three knives and bottles of liquor in Carreta cemetery but no untoward incidents were reported in public cemeteries in the city, said  Police Chief Melvin Ramon Buenafe.

A man fired a gun in a cockpit in barangay San Nicolas but no one was injured.

Police  said at least 20,000 people  visited the Carreta cemetery while about 10,000 people were at the Calamba cemetery.

Mayor Michael Rama and Buenafe went around the three cemeteries of Calamba, Carreta and Queen City Memorial Garden to check  on security arrangements.
