THE M. LHUILLIER Kwarta Padala-Cebu Niños will try to get their bearings back together this Saturday as they take on the the Air21 Express in an exhibition game set at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Niños are coming off a disastrous showing in their home leg in the Liga Pilipinas V, which saw them lose their last two games, including a 49-66 rout at the hands of the Mandaue-Cebu Landmasters/RDAK in the title game last Saturday.
But this weekend’s contest is expected to be another barnburner and a chance for the Niños to redeem themselves.
The Niños put up a gallant stand in their exhibition game against the Petron Blazer Boosters more than a week ago but eventually lost, 94-90.
The Express will present another challenge with their retooled lineup which now boasts of Danny Seigle, Dorian Pena, Paul Artadi and Cebuano Hotshot Dondon Hontiveros.
It remains to be seen, though, whether the former University of Cebu (UC) stalwart will be seeing action as he is currently reinforcing the Smart Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA-Asia Champions Cup.
The Landmasters will also be getting a shot at the Express, which they will face on Sunday at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex. Correspondent Jonas Panerio
