Parojinogs post bail

/ 12:00 AM February 07, 2017

Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr. and his daughter, Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog, have posted bail of P30,000 each for their graft cases in the Sandiganbayan.

The Parojinogs surrendered on Monday morning after the antigraft court’s Fifth Division ordered their arrest last week after it found probable cause to proceed with their trial.

The case stemmed from Mayor Parojinog’s award of a gym renovation project to Parojinog & Sons Construction Company (PSCC) in 2008.

The court said there was probable cause to try the duo, saying that PSCC should have been disqualified from bidding based on the elder Parojinog’s disclosure of interest in his 2001 statement of assets, liabilities and net worth. The younger Parojinog is a managing partner at PSCC. —VINCE F. NONATO
