Filipinos will have the opportunity to venerate the relics of Saints Louis and Zelie Martin, parents of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, until Friday.

The relics were transferred on Sunday from the Philippine Coast Guard headquarters to the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (Manila Cathedral) in Intramuros, Manila. Fr. Genaro Diwa presided over the opening liturgy, followed by the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

From the Manila Cathedral, it was brought at 4 p.m. to the National Shrine of St. Michael and the Archangels Parish in San Miguel, Manila.

The relics will be transferred at 7 a.m. today, Feb. 6, to the Lay Formation Center (Layforce) in Edsa, Guadalupe, Makati City, before it will be taken to Santo Niño de Paz Chapel in Greenbelt Park at 2 p.m.

On Feb. 7, after the closing liturgy at 7:15 a.m., the relics will be transferred to the Diocese of Cubao where it will stay until Feb. 9. The relics will also be on display at Radio Veritas in Quezon City on Feb. 10.

The relics, which arrived in Manila on Jan. 2, are housed in a special reliquary donated by the people of Ireland for the Martin couple’s beatification in October 2008. It has been to over 32 archdioceses and diocese, including military camps.
