Gunmen attack family in Ecija

ZARAGOZA, Nueva Ecija — A family survived a gun attack Saturday night during which the father and his 10-year-old son were wounded in Barangay Sto. Rosario Young here.

Joel Tomas, 45, was driving a motorcycle carrying his wife, Gina, and son, Mark Joseph, when gunmen in a white sedan fired at them along the Tarlac-Sta. Rosa road at 10:23 p.m., police said.

Bullets struck the shoulders of Tomas and the boy. They are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Cabanatuan City.

Forensic investigators recovered a spent shell from a cal.-45 hand gun. Police have yet to determine the motive for the attacked. CBB/rga
