KIDAPAWAN CITY—A blocktime radio announcer was killed while his daughter was wounded when two men shot them in M’lang town in North Cotabato province on Wednesday, police said.
A policeman and a police informant were also killed during a manhunt against the suspects, who were later arrested.
Supt. John Meredell Calinga, M’lang police chief, said Marlon Muyco, who hosted the blocktime radio program, Abyan sa Kalambuan sa Banwa Sang M’lang, aired over dxND Radyo Bida here, was driving his motorcycle and was on his way home with his daughter to Barangay La Suerte when he was shot by the suspects.
Calinga identified the suspects as Boyet Patubo, a brother of Ireneo Patubo, village chair of Dolores in Antipas town; and Mark Patubo, son of the village official.
M’lang policemen pursued the suspects, who put up a fight. The gunfight killed a policeman and a police informant and wounded two others. —WILLIAMOR MAGBANUA
