Motorcycle-riding gunmen kill teacher in Isabela

CITY OF CAUAYAN, Isabela — A 61-year-old teacher died in a hospital on Thursday (Feb. 2) after being shot on Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 1) by two motorcycle-riding gunmen in Cabaruan village here.

Rosita Che of the Cauayan National High School was being ferried by a motorcycle on a makeshift sidecar along with four other passengers when the gunmen rode by and shot her twice at 5 p.m.

Che died while being treated for gunshot wounds in the neck and abdomen at the Cauayan Medical Specialists Hospital, said Senior Insp. Ferdinand Datul, Cauayan police chief investigator.

A bullet used for a .45-pistol was found at the crime scene.

The attack was caught by a CCTV camera.

The motorcycle driver and the other passengers were not harmed.  SFM/rga
