President Rodrigo Duterte has tasked Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea to lead the preparations for the 31st anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution on February 25.

Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella announced on Wednesday Medialdea’s appointment as head of the EDSA People Power Commission (EPCC).

“As to who will co-chair from the private sector that still needs to discussed,” Abella said in a statement.

The EPPC, created through Executive Order No. 82 in 1999, is the government agency tasked to organize and implement the annual commemoration of the 1986 EDSA Revolution.

The theme for this year’s commemoration is “A Day of Reflection: Celebrating People Power.” CBB/rga
