Poe welcomes appointment of new MTRCB chair Rachel Arenas

Senator Grace Poe welcomed on Monday the appointment of former Pangasinan Rep. Rachel Arenas as new chair of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), confident that the latter would be able to lead the agency and fulfill its visions.

Arenas would replace outgoing MTRCB chair Eugenio Villareal.

“I welcome the President’s appointment of former Pangasinan Rep. Rachel Arenas as the new MTRCB chair,” Poe said in a statement on Monday.

“I am confident that she will ably lead the agency towards continuity in the fulfillment of its goal of intelligent and discerning viewership,” she added.

Poe previously headed the MTRCB before she ran and won in her first senatorial run in 2013. JE/rga
