P1M monthly allowance eyed as motive for Ram Revilla’s murder
MANILA, Philippines – Disagreement over a P1M monthly allowance from their father, former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr., was eyed as motive in the murder of one of the sons, Ramgen Bautista, investigators said.
They said the amount was allegedly for the nine siblings and did not include the allowance for their mother, Genalyn Magsaysay.
The money was allegedly handled by Ramgen, the eldest of the nine children, they said.
Ramgen, an actor who took on the screen name Ram Revilla, was killed in the family-owned home in Parañaque City on October 28. His brother, Ramon Joseph, and sister, Maria Ramona Belen were implicated in the murder, along with five others.
Charges of murder and frustrated murder were filed against Ramon Joseph and two other suspects, now in police custody while Maria Ramona and three others remained at large.
