A drug suspect was killed in Caloocan City on Sunday after he allegedly shot it out with policemen investigating a report about an armed man roaming in the area.

Senior Supt. Johnson Almazan, Caloocan police chief, said that Ricky Pahati died at 12:55 a.m. on Sunday in an alley at Daang Bakal in 5th Avenue, Barangay 59, after he fired at policemen “without any provocation.”

Salvador Balatbat, Barangay 59 councilor, later told the police that the suspect had been linked to robbery cases and was also on their list of drug personalities. Recovered from Pahati were a .38-cal. revolver and seven sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu.”
