Billionaires love the sight of gold, and newly sworn-in United States President Donald Trump is no exemption.
The 45th U.S. head of state did not waste any time getting comfortable at the Oval Office of the White House, as he had the room’s crimson curtains replaced with his preferred gold-hued drapes.
The decorative change was first noticed when Trump sat at the Resolute desk to sign an executive order on Obamacare on Friday (Saturday in Manila)—his first action as President, the Huffington Post reported.
Apart from the drapes, Trump also got rid of former President Barack Obama’s circular rug, which was emblazoned with inspiring quotes from influential people including Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) and four ex-presidents.
It is also worth noting that Trump’s chosen replacement carpet is very much alike to what Ronald Reagan used during his tenure. George W. Bush also used a similar one for a short period of time, before opting for his own sunburst style carpet, the report said.
Also, it appears that even the couches inside the historic office were also swapped, as the new ones looked brocade unlike the serious grey suede.
Another noticeable change was the return of a bust of former U.K. Prime Minister Winston Churchill, which was famously replaced by a MLK bust during the Obama regime.

Prior to being elected in 2015, Trump told People that he wouldn’t alter much inside the building, if he ever wins the presidency.
“If I were elected, I would maybe touch it up a little bit, but the White House is a special place,” he stated. “You don’t want to do too much touching.”
Although the recent adjustments are merely for decorative purposes, the move may be indicative of the many changes that are sure to come during Trump’s reign, which many believe would alter the entire landscape of America. Khristian Ibarrola
