Rain in parts of Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao due to low pressure area—Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines – Parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies and scattered rains as a shallow low pressure area embedded along the intertropical convergence zone will affect the eastern section of the country, the state-run weather bureau said Tuesday.

In its weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the shallow low pressure area was seen 530 kilometers east of Mindanao and was embedded along the ITCZ which was affecting Visayas and Mindanao.

The Bicol region, Visayas and Mindanao will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, Pagasa said. The rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Likewise, moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough while elsewhere, winds will be moderate coming from the east and northeast with slight to moderate seas, Pagasa said.
