The weather in parts of Visayas and Mindanao is seen to improve after the effect of the tail-end of a cold front has diminished.

“The effect of tail-end of a cold front over the eastern section of Visayas has weakened,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said midday Friday.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms are still expected over Bicol region, Visayas and Mindanao.

A report from the Army’s 4th Infantry Division in Northern Mindanao said troops remained on standby but the weather has improved since Thursday night.

Water levels in Agusan del Sur were also reduced to 3.1 meters as of 6 a.m.

Heavy rains battered parts of Visayas and Mindanao early this week and caused massive flooding in several areas. RAM/rga
