DPWH hires Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries

THE Department of Public Works and Highways in Central Visayas (DPWH-7) joined the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD-7) in efforts to reduce ‘inter-generational’ cycle of poverty in the region.

The two government agencies forged an agreement last June 28.  Under the agreement, the DPWH-7 will hire DSWD’s Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries to work for roads and other infrastructure development projects.

Dubbed as “Trabahong Lansangan ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.,” the program was launched in San Remegio town, northern  Cebu on Oct. 31 where seven job orders were given to beneficiaries from the towns of San Remegio, Tabogon, Tabuelan and Tuburan.

Third district Rep. Benhur Salimbangon, San Remegio Mayor Jay Olivar, engineer Dolores Salazar of DPWH-7 and DSWD-7 Regional Director Ma. Evelyn B. graced the launching.
