Did you know: First Cabinet in 1917

The first Cabinet was organized on Jan. 11, 1917 by Governor General Francis Burton Harrison. It was composed of Rafael Palma as Secretary of Interior, Alberto Barreto as Secretary of Finance, Dionisio Jakosalem as Secretary of Commerce and Communications, Victorino Mapa as Secretary of Justice, Galicano Apacible as Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Charles Yeater as vice governor and ex-officio Secretary of Public Instruction.  —MARIELLE MEDINA, INQUIRER RESEARCH
