Pangasinan slay suspect surrenders
DAGUPAN CITY—The suspect in the murder of the police chief of Bayambang town in Pangasinan and his wife surrendered to Alaminos City Mayor Hernani Braganza and police officials on Sunday afternoon, more than eight hours after the crime.
Lyndon Millan, an employee of Alaminos’ public order and safety office, is facing double murder charges for the killing of his younger brother, Supt. Lloyd, and his wife Cherryl over a land dispute. The charges were filed at the city prosecutor’s office on Monday afternoon.
Superintendent Rolie Saltat, Alaminos police chief, said the attack was prompted by a conflict over a 5-hectare salt farm and fishpond in Alaminos.
Lloyd, a former police chief of Alaminos, was able to buy the land on where their father worked as a tenant, he said. After the purchase, Saltat said Lloyd had filed an eviction case against his three siblings and their parents, triggering the conflict and animosity within the family.
