Hotel apologizes to Lapu SK for report

THE management of a hotel in Dumaguete City apologized to Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials of Lapu-Lapu City in the wake of allegations that they misbehaved during their three-day stay in their establishment.

Charles Baylosis, consultant to Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza said the manager of Bethel Guest House in Dumaguete City apologized to him and the city government over the report that came out in a local paper.

The report stated that Lapu-Lapu City’s SK officials misbehaved in a hotel during a three-day regional SK conference held in Dumaguete City last week.

The same report said agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Dumaguete City went to the hotel to verify reports of marijuana use in one of the hotel rooms.

SK officials from Amlan, Negros Occidental said a female guest asked to use their restroom since the toilet in her room was busted.

Baylosis said the room where marijuana use was reported wasn’t occupied by the Lapu-Lapu City SK officials.

Lapu-Lapu City SK Federation chairperson Nicole Balao denied that they vandalized their room.

“Some pillow cases were stained but it was not vandalism, it’s the hair coloring that stained the pillow cases,” Balao said.

Baylosis said it would be very inappropriate for hotel management to disclose the stained pillows since it’s an “in-house matter” that should be handled privately.

He said the hotel manager Roy Kang apologized for what was reported in the local media.
