The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Wednesday that the agency has noted P83,460,000 in damage caused by Typhoon “Nina” in Marinduque and Oriental Mindoro in their initial report.
NDRRMC spokesperson Romina Marasigan said in a press conference that the amount is just an initial assessment, and only noted for infrastructure and river control facilities, the cost of damage on agriculture still not included.
Marasigan also said that the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) confirmed one death in Quezon, while NDRRMC is still verifying 10 reports of fatalities in different provinces, and is yet to confirm reports of four people missing.
Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development is appealing for volunteers to help prepare food packs for the evacuees.
“Para sa ayuda, kailangan po ng volunteers para sa madaling distribution,” she said.

NDRRMC said that non-food items were already delivered to CALABARZON and MIMAROPA. Around 60,000 food items and food packs were also delivered to Davao, Catanduanes and other regions.
As for donations, Marasigan said that there is still no call for them.
“Wala pang call for donations, sapat pa naman ang galing sa gobyerno,” she said.
