Intense rains were dumped in Metro Manila and nearby provinces on Monday morning due to Typhoon “Nina” (international name: Nock-Ten).
Metro Manila, Rizal, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna and Quezon province were under orange rainfall warning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said at 10 a.m. on Monday
This means flooding was threatening in these areas with 15 to 30 millimeters of rainfall expected in the next two hours.
Yellow warning or possible flooding in low-lying areas was issued in Bataan and Bulacan.
Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains were affecting Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija and Pampanga in the next two to three hours, Pagasa said. RAM/rga
