Albay orders early closure of business establishments due to ‘Nina’

LEGAZPI CITY – The Albay Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has ordered early closure of business establishments effective 3 p.m. Sunday.

Cedric Daep, head of Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (Apsemo), said this is to allow employees to go home safely and prepare their families and houses against the adverse effect of Typhoon “Nina” (international name: Nock-ten).

As of 3 p.m., the Apsemo has evacuated 29,682 families or 138,920 persons from 12 cities and municipalities in the province.

Evacuation efforts in other towns are still on-going. JE
