CLARK FREEPORT—The Capampangan in Media Inc. (Cami) opened on Friday the “Bale Balita” (House of News) in one of the preserved barn houses here.
Bale Balita, housed in Building 2990 on Rufino Cardinal Santos Street, will be the “home of truth, workplace for journalists and venue of forum on media issues, and training,” said Federico Pascual Jr., Cami president.
Pascual signed a memorandum of agreement with Felipe Antonio Remollo, president of the Clark Development Corp., on the free and exclusive use of the barn house.
Bale Balita displays replicas of several newspapers published in Pampanga during the Spanish colonial period. These papers were the “Ing Katiwala,” “Ing Emangabiran,” “Pamitic,” and “Ing Calasag.” The “El Imparcial” was written in Spanish and the local language. Cami, founded in 2004, has commissioned a historian to research on Pampanga press.
