Eighteen youngsters aged 15 to 24 were arrested on Thursday after the police caught them holding a pot session inside an abandoned home in Barangay Umapad in Mandaue City, Cebu.
Of the 18, 10 were boys and 8 were girls—five of whom were 15 and another was 17.
They were smoking marijuana when policemen went inside the house in the interior portion of Purok Limonsito, Barangay Umapad after receiving a tip about the presence of youngsters there.
Among those arrested were Ryan Vergara, 18; Ryan Collamat, 24; Alex Bryan Bertulfo, 21; Roel Ranilo, 18; Andy Cris dela Cruz, 23; Andy Cris dela Cruz, 23; Raymond Fermin, 19; Juliet Mendoza, 20; and James Etorma, 21, all from Mandaue City.
The others were Aldie Amaya, 23 of Oslob town; Jovalyn Alonzo, 22 of Dalaguete town; and Noel Geraldez, 20 of Negros Oriental.
The six others—all girls—were minors.
SP01 Rolando Blanco, desk officer of the Mandaue City said the police seized a small yellow plastic bag containing 39 packs of dried marijuana leaves, two half-consumed sticks of marijuana and some paraphernalia.
