LRT, MRT, PNR schedules for Christmas, New Year holidays

The train systems in the metropolis have released their operating hours for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) said LRT-1 will run on shorter operating hours on Dec. 24, 25, and 31, 2016 and Jan. 1, 2017.

LRT-1 train service from Baclaran to Roosevelt will start at 5 a.m. on the said dates.

Last trips on Christmas Eve will leave at 8 p.m. while last trips on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 from Baclaran and Roosevelt will leave at 9:30 p.m. and 9:50 p.m., respectively.

LRT will resume to its regular schedule on non-holidays. The management had extended operating hours from Dec. 3 to 23 to in anticipation of the Christmas rush.

Operations of the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT) on Dec. 24 and 31 will start at 4:30 a.m., while the last trip will leave North Avenue at 8:30 p.m. and Taft Avenue at 9:14 p.m.

On Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, Christmas Day and New Year, MRT operations will start at 6:30 a.m. while last trips will leave North Avenue and Taft Avenue stations at 10 p.m. and 10:40 p.m., respectively.

First trips on Dec. 26 and 30 and Jan. 2 will start at 4:30 a.m. and will run until 10 p.m. from North Avenue and 10:40 p.m. from Taft Avenue.

For Philippine National Railways (PNR), southbound trains from Tutuban to Alabang will operate until 5:37 p.m. on Dec. 24 and until 2:37 p.m. on Dec. 31. First trip will depart Tutuban station at 8:37 a.m. on Dec. 25 and 10:37 a.m. on Jan. 1.

Last trip of northbound trains will leave Alabang at 7 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 4 p.m. on Dec. 31. The first northbound trip will start at 10 a.m. on Christmas Day and 12 noon on New Year’s Day. IDL
