BAGUIO CITY–Eleven people were hurt when a delivery truck lost its brakes and caused a 12-vehicle collision along Kennon Road here shortly after 1 p.m. on Friday.

The accident occurred at Camp 8 village near Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.

The victims suffered cuts and bruises, said Rafael Valencia, head of the Rescue 911 On Call volunteer group.

“Based on reports, the six-wheel truck drove up to deliver frozen chickens to a mall but had turned back and was driving down when it lost its brakes,” Valencia said.

Rescue 911 On Call said six victims on their list gave addresses in Pampanga province and Quezon City.

Government work crews have been removing the damaged vehicles to free up traffic flow for motorists leaving the city for the Christmas weekend and for tourists coming to the summer capital, he said./ac/rga
