2 alleged drug suppliers nabbed in Lucena

LUCENA CITY—Police arrested two suspected major drug pushers in this city on Thursday, police said Friday.

Supt. Dennis de Leon, Lucena police chief, said an undercover policeman nabbed Hassanul Darangina, 28, and his associate Alvina Manuel, 26, in a buy-bust operation in the coastal village of Dalahican around 8 p.m.

The suspects were tagged as among the major suppliers of methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” to local fishers in the village.

Seized from the suspects were one plastic of shabu weighing 25.8 grams worth P47,700, two ATM cards, bank deposit receipts and P4,000 cash believed to be from an illegal drug sale. RAM/rga
