Blaze destroys 15 houses in Benguet town
BAGUIO CITY, Benguet—A huge fire damaged about 15 houses in Mankayan, Benguet on Thursday night (Dec. 22), three days before Christmas.
Mankayan Mayor Materno Luspian said the fire broke out at 7 p.m. and was contained and declared out at 10 p.m.
The Bureau of Fire Protection has yet to determine the cause of the blaze.

Firefighters from the Benguet towns of Atok, Buguias, and Bakun; Bauko of Mountain Province and Cervantes of Ilocos Sur helped control the fire. No one was reported hurt. Damage estimates have not been released at press time.
